The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ OF WHAT ARE they asking one another? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
