The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 a fitting requital, 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30

Notes and Instructions
There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
