The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great news - 2 About which they differ? 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
