The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
