The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 then he mustered 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
