The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
