The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 and gathered his people together 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
