The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
