The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
