The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 you pay attention 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
