The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
