The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
