The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
