The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and gently take it away; 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 you pay attention 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
