The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
