The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
