The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 then he mustered 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
