The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and gently take it away; 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
