The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and gently take it away; 2 And who glide with ease. 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
