The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 then he mustered 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
