The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
