The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people together 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
