The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
