The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
