The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and gently take it away; 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And the second followeth it, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
