The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
