The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
