The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
