The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
