The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
