The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
