The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
