The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
