Are ye the harder to create, or is the heaven that He built? 27 High has He reared its vault and formed it in accordance with what it was meant to be; 28 And He made dark its night, and brought forth its sunshine. 29 And after that He spread the earth; 30 after that bringing forth from it its water and its pasture land, 31 And the mountains He has fixed firmly; 32 [all this] as a means of sustenance for you and your animals? 33 But when the Great Catastrophe comes, 34 The day on which man shall recollect what he strove after, 35 And the hell shall be made manifest to him who sees 36 Then, as for him who rebelled 37 preferring the present life, 38 Then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge. 39 But unto him who shall have stood in fear of his Sustainer's Presence, and held back his inner self from base desires, 40 Then surely the garden-- that is the abode. 41 (Muhammad), they ask you, "When will the Hour of Doom come?" 42 (Muhammad), you do not know (when and how) it will come. 43 To your Lord belongs (the knowledge of) the term thereof? 44 you are but a warner for those who fear it. 45 The Day they see it, (It will be) as if they had tarried but a single evening, or (at most till) the following morn! 46
