He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 To him you give attention. 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 and who has fear of God, 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 lofty and pure, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 noble, pious. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And olives and palms 29 And dense gardens, 30 and fruits and fodder 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 AND SO, when the piercing call [of resurrection] is heard 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 and covered by darkness. 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
