He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 You pay full attention, 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 And hath fear, 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Perish man! how ungrateful he is! 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 And grapes and herbage 28 Olives and dates, 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 and fruits and pastures 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 mother, father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news; 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
Almighty God's Truth.
