He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 to him thou attendest 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Noble and pious. 16 Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful! 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 Then split the earth in clefts 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 and his consort and his children; 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 laughing and joyful, 39 And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
Almighty God's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
