He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 to a rich man, 6 And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified. 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 and in awe [of God] 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 We send down abundant water, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 and his consort and his children; 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news; 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
