He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 For him who does not care, 5 So you are after him! 6 though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 and who has fear of God, 9 you ignore him. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble and purified. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 From what did He create him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 then the way eased for him, 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 How We pour water in showers 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 and his consort and his children; 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Dust shall cover them 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
