He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 to him thou attendest 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 You neglect. 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 noble, pious. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it): 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 And We made corn grow, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And olives and palms 29 And thick gardens, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 Blackness overcoming them. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
