He Frowned ('Abasa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 when the blind came to him. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 To him you attend; 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble, pious. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it): 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 And thick gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 his mother, his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
