He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 when the blind came to him. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And whereas he fears, 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 On honourable pages. 13 Exalted, purified, 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 with darkness overspread: 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
