Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 by the night swarming, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
