The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
