The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the books are spread, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Then where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
