The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
God the Almighty always says the truth.
