The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
