The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
