The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
