The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
